Examining the deterioration of a marriage, straining ties already strained, feeling completely alone next to the one you love - these are details that Hollywood films tend to gloss over. But those details, the emotional resonances that sit beneath big budget surfaces, are far more interesting and far more moving than aliens visiting Earth.

These songs are inspired by Close Encounters of the Third Kind, by the relationships that really drive the film, and by Kenneth's crush on the character Richard Dreyfuss plays in it.
